Getting a Full or
Part-Time Job
as a Writer
There has possibly
never been a better
time to get a job as a
writer, or to find
freelance writing jobs.
The economy has
affected many
magazines, many of
which have cut back on
full-time writing staffs.
But publishers will still
have to fill all of those
pages each and every
issue with articles,
stories or columns, so
freelance writers all
over the world now have
more opportunities to
find freelance writing
jobs and writing-related
work than ever.
It doesn't matter if your
specialty is writing
poetry, non-fiction,
articles, short stories,
biographies, romance
stories or general
interest. As a freelance
writer, the opportunities
for you now exist
everywhere, either as a
part-time job or through
freelance writing jobs,
to get published and
realize your dream of
becoming a published
writer.

Creating a Writer's
Resume for
Freelance Writing
Jobs
A resume for a writer is
not that different than a
resume would be for any
job. You simply need
tell about your writing
experience and what
qualifies you for the job
you're applying for.
Be sure to list all of your
writing-related jobs or
projects you've worked
on, and feel free to
enclose or attach a
sample of your writing,
such as an article or a
short story.
It's also a good idea to
state the type of writing
work you are looking for
and most skilled at, and
don't forget to include
any writing-related
courses or seminars you
have attended.
